In the Niinmun collection, we use only high-quality natural materials, produced in Finland and elsewhere in the EU. All our fabrics are certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, ensuring that no skin-irritating, environmentally harmful chemicals, or heavy metals are used in their production.
The merino wool we use is Woolmark and RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certified, as well as mulesing-free. These certifications guarantee responsible production and high quality.
Our main materials are linen, merino wool, and Ecovero. In addition, the collection features merino wool/silk and merino wool/cashmere knits, as well as hemp and silk-cotton fabrics.

merinowool
The merino wool we use is mulesing-free and certified by Woolmark New Wool and RWS (Responsible Wool Standard), ensuring the yarn’s purity and a fully transparent supply chain from farm to finished product. The wool originates from South America, in Argentina, and the yarn is spun in Italy.
Knits from the Utö collection are produced at Topknit in Siikainen, Finland. Additionally, our collection includes lighter merino wool/silk and merino wool/Tencel knits. These lighter knits are woven in Orivesi and sewn into finished garments by Myllymuksut in Juupajoki, Finland.
We also have a knitting mill in Lithuania, where we produce part of our knitwear.

CARE FOR MERINO WOOL
The best care for wool garments is airing them in a humid environment, as wool naturally cleans itself. If necessary, wash on a wool program at a maximum of 30 °C using a gentle wool detergent. Avoid unnecessary washing.
For local stains, such as makeup marks, hand wash by gently dabbing with water and soap. Dry your knitwear flat, for example on a towel, and reshape it while damp. A garment steamer is also a great way to refresh your knitwear.
Care for your knitwear regularly using a clothes brush, wool comb, or fabric shaver.
The same care instructions apply to the merino-cashmere knits as to 100% merino wool, but cashmere requires slightly more frequent combing. At first, cashmere may pill more easily, but with regular brushing or combing, your cashmere knit will remain in excellent condition for many years.

LINEN AND HEMP
We use pre-shrunk and softened hemp and linen, but allow for 3–5% shrinkage. Linen and hemp are durable, breathable materials that feel cool against the skin in the summer heat. They do not generate static easily and feel comfortable to wear.
Linen fiber has a natural texture — sometimes with a beautiful sheen, other times wonderfully coarse and lively due to uneven fibers, depending on the fabric’s density. Both linen and hemp are durable, low-maintenance materials, and keeping them clean is effortless. With proper care and washing, linen and hemp garments only get better with use and can last for many years.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR LINEN AND HEMP
Machine wash at 40 °C with garments of similar colors, loosely to avoid washing creases. Use liquid detergent. For colored items, use a detergent without bleach; for pure white items, use a whitening detergent. We recommend using a splash of fabric vinegar in the rinse cycle.
Light spinning at a maximum of 600 rpm is recommended to prevent excessive creasing. Shake and reshape the garment while damp, smooth out folds and collars, and hang to dry. This way, ironing is usually unnecessary, and linen wrinkles are less pronounced.
We do not recommend tumble drying. Linen garments can be easily refreshed with a garment steamer. If you prefer a smoother finish with a subtle sheen, iron the garment inside out while damp using a steam iron.
To keep your linen garments looking beautiful, store them on a hanger.

ECOVERO™ AND TENCEL™
ECOVERO™ viscose is an eco-friendlier regenerated fiber that drapes beautifully, is breathable, and feels pleasant against the skin. Unlike traditional viscose, ECOVERO™ is produced using a non-toxic solvent that does not release emissions into water or air, making it a more sustainable choice. ECOVERO™ also does not generate static or cause overheating.
TENCEL™ is the trademark of Austrian textile company Lenzing for lyocell. Only Lenzing-certified lyocell can carry the TENCEL™ trademark. TENCEL™ is a regenerated fiber made from eucalyptus and has properties very similar to ECOVERO™, offering a smooth, breathable, and eco-friendly fabric.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR ECOVERO™ AND TENCEL™
Wash gently in the machine at 30–40 °C with garments of similar colors. We recommend using fabric vinegar instead of fabric softener for rinsing. Hang garments to dry, and reshape them while damp so they dry neatly and maintain their form. Iron only if necessary, using a low heat setting.
